As a child, Emily B. Martin’s main accomplishments were Premiere Bug Catcher and Expert Stream Explorer. Later, she would funnel these interests into writing and illustrating adventure stories. These stories continued, written during lunch hours, college lectures, and eventually baby naps.
Emily’s profession depends on what month it is—during the summer she works as a park ranger with the National Park Service. The rest of the year she fills her time being a mostly-stay-at-home mom, part-time high ropes course leader, sometimes-freelance illustrator, and rest-of-the-time novelist. Strengths include drawing cartoons and baking impromptu brownies. Weaknesses include shouting at modern movies and eating pans of impromptu brownies. She dreams of gender equality and the decriminalization of spiders—she’s not sure which one is more far-off.
Emily B. Martin is represented by Valerie Noble. Her young adult fantasy series, WOODWALKER has sold in a two-book deal to Harpercollins Voyager Impulse Imprint for publication Spring 2016.
